Publish SCACs as they become available As I understand it, freight carriers apply for Standard Carrier Alpha Codes (SCACs) through the National Motor Freight Traffic Association. Once they are granted, they are passed to the DOT. I feel that the Cargo Securement Basic does not adequately represent carriers of similar size and number of inspections. Deck carriers and Vanbody carriers although still subject the security of load regulations they do differ in a great way.
